NEW AUSTRALIAN DOCUMENTARY WINS ALIEN OSCAR ! A newly released Australian Documentary Feature Film about UFO phenomena and alien abduction won an award at the 2009 International UFO Convention and Film Festival in Nevada, USA. The Aussie Film was competing against many other films from around the world. The festival is the biggest of its kind in the world, boasting over 30 experts and speakers from across the globe. The awards ceremony was held at the Laughlin Casino in Nevada on the 1st of March. The prize is a silver statue of an alien holding a movie camera which looks similar to an Oscar awarded to films in Hollywood. The Australian film entitled ‘In Phantasmagoria: The Awakening’ won an award for the best alien contact and abduction film. It is the first Australian film of its kind and took 3 years to complete. The 93 minute documentary features in-depth interviews with ordinary Australians who describe their profound experiences. The film is unique in that it shows a link between the mystery surrounding UFO’s and climate change. The film is not an investigative documentary; it contains a human element which touches and engages the viewer. It offers a new perspective on the most critical and pertinent issue of our time: Global Warming. Highly thought provoking, this cutting edge Australian documentary is of global significance and offers an answer to the question: Are we alone?
